Man-Golfing-in-Polo

There are two things you can count on in San Diego in the summer time: great weather, and lots of golf tournaments. Whether you're playing, sponsoring a hole, or organizing the entire tournament, it's a good bet that embroidered golf shirts are on your "to-do" list. Embroidered shirts are a classic tourney keepsake, and as such are a great opportunity to provide exposure for your brand both during and after the event.

There are all kinds of tourneys, played everywhere from the more economical and accessible public courses to the most exclusive greens and fairways in the area. Your tournament's keepsake shirt should be of a quality and style in keeping with the theme and level of play expected at your event. In our experience, for a mid-to-high end tournament, Nike's golf shirts are by far the most popular in San Diego, followed distantly by Adidas, Reebok, and player-specific brands like Greg Norman and Travis Matthews. Name brand shirts can be expected to come at a premium price, although within each line, there is often a range of prices available. For example, some of Nike's "classic" golf shirts cost $20 to $30 less than their "fashion" offerings. Some of the latest styles are really eye catching, but if you're raising money for charity, maybe you'd be better off donating the price difference to your favorite cause!

And if your tournament is being operated on a shoestring, don't despair. You may not have the budget for a name brand golf shirt, but a traditional embroidered polo shirt is probably within your reach. Shirts made specifically for golf are cut with a little extra fabric in the shoulders to facilitate an athletic swing, but regular polo shirts can also be worn on the golf course, and none but the most discerning will notice the difference. Brands like Sport-Tek and Port Authority offer a number of affordable athletic cut polos that are made of moisture wicking performance fabric. And the good news is that, although the shirt be missing that special little trademarked "swoosh," it's not likely to make a whole lot of difference to your golf game!

Whatever your budget, we'll be happy to help find the perfect golf shirt to serve as a happy reminder of a day on the links supporting your favorite cause. Your purchase will also support the local economy, as these quality shirts are embroidered in San Diego. And speaking of embroidery, we can embroider a logo on your shirts in a variety of locations. Typically the tournament logo is be applied to the left chest. To make your shirts really stand out, add more logos such as corporate sponsors, the course and tournament dates, and the beneficiary's logo on the sleeves, opposite chest, or back yoke of the shirt (below the collar.) Additional locations are embroidered at a discount, and typically the cost of embroidery is small compared to the cost of the shirt, so don't hesitate to consider adding additional embroidered logos to make your shirt something really special.

Our website features many styles and colors of polos that you can browse. Or feel free to stop by our showroom at 805 & Balboa, where we have many sample shirts available to see in person and feel the quality. Once you've chosen a shirt, just contact us to request a quote. Each job is custom, and the price depends on your logo(s), size, shape, complexity of the design, and quantities involved.

With EmbroidMe San Diego, you can always order with confidence knowing that we'll embroider a sample for your review before processing your order. Nothing will be stitched on your shirts until you give the approval. We want you to be completely satisfied with your purchase.

Another thought: if you've done golf shirts before, and are looking for an alternative, consider a light jacket, windshirt, or a performance pullover, all of which will be welcome when the weather turns cooler. Or if you've been handed the chore of organizing the tournament at the last minute and there is no time to get sizing information from your participants, consider an embroidered visor, ball cap, or quality golf towel. These items are one-size-fits-all, and are always well received. If you're new to organizing tournaments, you might want to order a copy of Tom Green's book about how to organize a golf tournament to make money. It's a fun read, and has a lot of helpful info for those new (and not so new) to the challenge.
